Union MoS Ajay Tamta Begins Three-Day Tripura Visit to Review Development Projects

Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Ajay Tamta, arrived in Agartala on Wednesday for a three-day visit to review development projects in the state. During his stay, the minister will visit several locations and assess the progress of various initiatives.

"Upon my arrival at Agartala Airport today to review the progress of various schemes and projects underway in Tripura under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, I was warmly welcomed by the officials of @nhidcl," the minister wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Shortly after his arrival, Tamta visited the revered Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati District. Reflecting on this visit, he shared on X: "During my visit to Tripura, I had the privilege of visiting the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple today. I prayed to the Mother for the welfare of the countrymen".

In addition to the temple visit, Tamta also met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers.

He tweeted, "I had a productive meeting with state general secretary Shri Vipin Dev Verma ji, local MLA Abhishek Debroy ji, and party office bearers and workers, where we held extensive discussions." 

Later in the day, the minister visited the Horticulture Research Center in Nagichhara, Agartala, where he discussed advanced agricultural technologies with local officials. "I learned about the new improved crop varieties developed at this research center, which will enhance productivity in the North Eastern states," he shared in another post on X.

On Thursday, Ajay Tamta will continue his review of key projects. He is expected to assess priority-based projects at Khowai Circuit House and inspect National Highway construction work in Khowai and Mohanpur subdivisions. He will also visit the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) facility in Lembuchhara. A meeting with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha is scheduled for later in Agartala.

Besides, the Union Minister will meet with officials from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) and the Public Works Department (PWD) to discuss the progress of highway construction projects in the state.
